Jo 2015 (SR of 8 RCTs & MA)(1): Acupuncture significantly lowered serum FSH levels and more women receiving acupuncture reported resumption of menses; low quality evidence
Yin etc. 2020 ( SR & MA of 8 RCTs including 896 candidates) The pooled results showed that there was a significant reduction in the basal serum FSH level, and a remarkable elevation in the basal E2 level, in the acupuncture group when compared with the control. It indicated that acupuncture had an advantage over HRT in reducing serum FSH level and increasing serum E2 level in women with POI (2).
